The most essential information to remember when choosing the electrical guitar that is right for you is to make certain that your guitar and whatever amp you anticipate on getting match up for excellent sounds and tone.
From the most costly to the least expensive, the electric guitar is a musical instrument that can give you years of satisfaction when correctly cared for. The same can be said about autos. They come in several diverse, styles, models, and price ranges. Some manufacturers are better known and preferred over others. That does not mean the less popular models is not just as effective as the high priced autos are. Guitars are the same way. You will find a variety of styles within an array of prices.
Would you purchase a vehicle without test driving it first and comparing it with other models? Clearly, the rational thing to do is to look into the model you are interested in. Research everything about it and weigh the information against other similar models. What you should know:
If you are working from a budget, do not throw away your money on the most expensive guitar. There are many good electric guitars for the individual working with a budget. If you can allow it, buy the best guitar you can and you will not need to upgrade later. You can make inquiries on different websites and music stores for electric guitars in your price range and see what individuals have to say about them. If you are looking for a second hand guitar, you may want to consider going with a Fender Strat or Tele, they are most likely your best bet. The Strat, being one of the most adaptable guitars ever developed. The Tele is the most basic, hard working guitar you will find.
It is important to know, before purchasing an electric guitar, that the timeless rock and roll guitar/amp set-ups are the Gibson into a Marshall and a Fender into a Fender. These set-ups are an excellent matches if you are looking for quality of sound. It is essential to remember that you want to match up your electric guitar and amp for great sounds and tone.
Something else to consider when you are purchasing your guitar is what kind of music you want to perform on it. The majority of the guitars are very adaptable, but several are made for specific types of music.
Do not forget to look into the types of pick-ups that are on the guitar. Pick-ups are the electronic mechanism that is under the strings on the body of the guitar. Pick-ups carry the string sounds and deliver them to the amp. As with most items, you buy the better the pick-ups, the better the sounds. There are two distinct types of pick-ups: single-coils and humbuckers.
Single coils are bright sounding, but they have lots of character. They are good for all around playing, particularly blues and rock and roll. Single coils capture interference (that is a humming sound caused by other sources). You can hear popular single-coil sounds from artists such as Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughn.
Humbuckers sound full, smooth, and thick. They give a very full and smooth overdrive sound with little to no interference. You can hear popular humbucker sounds from Santana and Slash.
If you do not like the pick-ups on your guitar, you can purchase different ones and have a guitar technician install them for you. Seymour Duncan pick-ups are considered the finest. Dimarzio pick-ups are very close, too. The most effective way to compare pick-ups is to go into a guitar store and ask the sales person that you would like to try several guitars and then compare the sounds. This will give you a more precise idea of the various sounds between a single-coil and a humbucker pick-up.
Some electric guitar models you can try:
Fenders
Gibsons
ESP's
Lbanez
